Lasers in Dentistry

The new Delight Laser is able to treat hard and soft tissues often without the need for numbing with local anaesthetics.
This laser can remove decay, treat the enamel surface for bonding tooth coloured fillings, shape the gum, treat gum disease and remove and re-contour soft tissue problems.
The laser can also be used in Root Canal work and in most situations to treat infections both within the soft and hard tissues.
The laser can also desensitise teeth to cold and other irritations as well as making most teeth numb instead of having injections prior to being restored..
Restorations are more conservative when this laser is used.
Regular high speed drills are still needed when silver fillings are to be removed but this laser can remove all old tooth coloured fillings.
Lasers are excellent for children and nervous patients as there is little need for local anaethetics and there is not the sound of the normal drilling, just a gentle popping sound. However you may have local anaesthetics if you wish.
